Transparent & Simple
How It Works
Real estate sweepstakes made simple, legal, and transparent. Here's exactly what happens from listing to title transfer.
Browse Active Properties
Visit the Browse page to see all currently active real estate sweepstakes. Each listing shows the property details, fair market value, entry price, and the drawing deadline.
Create Your Account
Register for a free RealEntry account. We collect only the information required to fulfill legal sweepstakes obligations and verify your identity if you win.
Purchase Entry Package
Select an entry package and pay securely via Stripe. More entries increase your statistical probability of winning, but do not guarantee it. All sales are final.
Entries Confirmed
Your entries are logged in our system immediately upon payment confirmation. You can view your entry history from your account dashboard at any time.
Drawing Held
When the countdown expires, our system freezes the entry pool and executes a cryptographically verified random drawing. The drawing seed and result hash are published publicly.
Winner Notified & Property Transferred
The winner is notified by email and must respond within 72 hours. Title is transferred through a licensed title company. Winner is responsible for applicable taxes.
Legal Compliance
A sweepstakes is a legal promotional method under U.S. law when it satisfies three requirements: it must have a Prize, it must be based on Chance, and it must not require Consideration (i.e., purchase). RealEntry satisfies all three by always providing a free alternative method of entry (AMOE).
No Gambling
Sweepstakes are distinct from gambling under U.S. law. No skill or risk is involved.
AMOE Required
Every sweepstakes offers a free mail-in entry option so that no purchase is ever required.
State Compliance
We monitor state-specific sweepstakes laws. Residents of certain states may be excluded.
Auditable Draws
All drawing seeds and result hashes are published and independently verifiable.
For full legal details, see our Official Rules, Terms of Service, and Sweepstakes Compliance pages.
For Property Owners
How Selling Works
Sellers list their property and set the fair market value with a licensed appraiser. RealEntry manages the sweepstakes lifecycle, entry collection, and drawing. When the drawing closes, a title company receives the settlement funds and coordinates the transfer to the winner. Sellers receive guaranteed FMV (less platform fees) regardless of entry volume.
List Your PropertyFrequently Asked Questions
Is this legal?
Yes. RealEntry operates legal sweepstakes under applicable state and federal law. Sweepstakes are legal in the United States provided they offer a free method of entry (AMOE). We always offer a free mail-in entry option for every sweepstakes.
Do I have to purchase entries?
No. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. For every sweepstakes, a free Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE) is available by mail. See our AMOE page for instructions.
How is the winner selected?
Winners are selected using a cryptographically secure random number generator. The drawing seed and result hash are published publicly so any participant can independently verify the fairness of the result.
Who can enter?
Legal residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older. Certain states may have additional restrictions. Employees and immediate family members of RealEntry and property sellers are not eligible.
What taxes does the winner pay?
The winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes on the prize. A property won in a sweepstakes is typically valued at fair market value for tax purposes. We strongly recommend consulting a tax professional.
What if I win but cannot accept the property?
Winners who cannot accept the property may be eligible for a cash alternative (if offered) or may forfeit the prize. See each sweepstakes's Official Rules for specific terms.
How does the seller benefit?
Sellers list their property and receive a guaranteed settlement equal to fair market value (less platform fees) funded by entry revenue. This is handled by a licensed title company.
Can I enter multiple times?
Yes, you can purchase multiple entry packages to increase your entries. However, no single participant may hold more than the maximum percentage of entries defined in the official rules.
